Hunters

Windows Application Hunter

Click the black crosshair icon on the icon bar - it will open the Windows Application Hunter control window. (You may minimize the Windows Application Hunter control window. It will change to a rectangle with a hunter icon on it. It will be located on the right side of the screen.)

This window contains two buttons: Start hunting and Stop hunting, two radio buttons (for changing mode of hunting) and a Delay parameter.

Open the document in which you will hunt. Click Start hunting, press the Ctrl key and keeping the Ctrl key pressed start to hover the mouse over the application window. If a chosen element can be hunted – the rectangular area around it will get an orange frame. To hunt it - press 1 (keeping Ctrl key pressed all the time). After successful hunt in a bottom right part of Wizlink Designer will show a comment: Standard hunt successful.

In case of some specific applications, when the controls do not work with the default Delay parameter (0), do not hesitate to increase it (the delay value is in milliseconds, so no perceptible slowing down for the scenario) and hunt the same control once more.

If the chosen element has not been framed or you got a comment Standard hunt failed - you should try alternative hunting mode: simply choose radio button Alternative, click Start hunting, press the Ctrl key and keeping the Ctrl key pressed start to hover the mouse over the application window. To hunt an element - press 1 (keeping Ctrl key pressed all the time). And again - comments about success or failure of hunting will be show in a bottom right part of Wizlink Designer.

You can hunt any number of elements in the document. To end a hunting session press Stop hunting button. All hunted items (so called controls) are already transferred to Wizlink Designer. They appear in the Windows application controls section of the Local GUI controls tab (in Just hunted folder).
